ABOUT ORAINE REID

Oraine Reid serves as Interim President & Chief Executive Officer of BBIF Capital, bringing more than 16 years of leadership, financial expertise, and community development experience to the role. A longtime member of BBIF’s executive leadership team, Oraine has helped shape the organization’s strategic growth, strengthen its financial foundation, expand access to capital, and deepen its impact in the communities it serves.

Since joining BBIF in 2009, Oraine has advanced through increasingly senior leadership roles, gaining experience across nearly every facet of the organization. His leadership spans finance, lending, capital strategy, fundraising, compliance, operations, strategic planning, technology and innovation, data analytics, and organizational performance. Most recently, he served as Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer and has previously provided executive leadership during periods of organizational transition.

Oraine has been a key contributor to BBIF’s significant growth and transformation. During his tenure, annual revenue increased from approximately $1.02 million to a high of $8.08 million, net assets grew from $2.7 million to nearly $16 million, loans outstanding expanded from $2.2 million to more than $30.4 million, and assets under management grew from $3.3 million to more than $322 million. He has also helped secure and raise more than $66 million in capital to support BBIF’s lending, operations, and community development initiatives.

LEADERSHIP FOCUS

Central to Oraine’s leadership is the belief that financial strength must translate into meaningful community impact. He has helped expand BBIF’s capacity to provide capital and resources to small businesses, entrepreneurs, affordable housing developers, and community development projects, supporting business growth, job creation, neighborhood investment, and greater economic opportunity. His work has also helped strengthen relationships with banks, investors, government agencies, philanthropic organizations, and community partners that provide critical resources to advance BBIF’s mission.

Oraine has played a key leadership role in the growth and execution of BBIF’s New Markets Tax Credit platform and in developing new sources of capital to expand the organization’s reach and impact. His approach combines disciplined financial stewardship, strategic thinking, innovation, and collaboration with a deep commitment to the businesses and communities BBIF was created to serve.

As Interim President & CEO, Oraine provides strategic and executive leadership across the organization, with responsibility for BBIF’s people, financial performance, lending and investment activities, operations, partnerships, and strategic direction. His focus is on providing steady and collaborative leadership, maintaining organizational strength and continuity, strengthening relationships with BBIF’s partners and stakeholders, and positioning the organization for its next chapter of sustainable growth and community impact.

Since 1987, BBIF Capital has provided $118.3 million in capital across 1,217 loans, helping create or sustain more than 15,600 jobs.
